Care for Swarovski: Sale of the headquarters in Wattens threatens!
The concerns about the location of Swarovski in Wattens are increasing: The company apparently plans to sell a third of the site, which includes around ten soccer fields. According to reports by ORF Tirol, the high -rise at the main entrance is also affected. Central works council chairman Selina Eder is concerned about the inadequate communication of the company and warned that operating space has been sold in the past. The number of employees has dropped from 6,700 to only around 2,400 since 2007, and just 50 further layoffs have been announced.
The management rejected the rumors about a sales plan. In a written statement, the Swarovski management announced that the transformation was showing strong results as part of the Luxignite strategy. They emphasized that the headquarters in Wattens should be made future-proof by the "Plan Wattens 2030", including the merging of production and administrative departments for more efficiency. The works council is now calling for an open discussion about the future plans to inform the employees at an early stage.
new growth strategy and sales increase
NASARD emphasized the need to increase competitiveness and announced that they want to re -generate profits from 2023. These developments are in the context of the company's strategic realignment, which wants to focus more on luxury products. "Luxury means tradition, creativity and craftsmanship," said the CEO. This realignment is accompanied by an extensive change within the company, which in particular will affect the locations in terms of efficiency and future viability, as has already been reported by industriemagazin.at
