Jaan Roose: Master of the slackline defies snow and wind in Reutte

On Friday evening, a stunning slackline campaign attracted attention in the region around the Burgruinen Ehrenberg. Under adverse conditions with strong snow and windy conditions, the Estonian world champion Jaan Roose balanced over a 405 -meter -long slackline, which stretched 130 meters above the ground between the historical castles. Roose needed about 35 minutes with remarkable serenity to master the entire route, while it was only equipped with a headlamp and climbing pits.

The threaded slackline, a special belt made of synthetic fiber, connected the Wachturm of the Ehrenberg Castle with Falkenberg near Fort Claudia. This impressive campaign was launched by the Burgenwelt Ehrenberg association to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the famous suspension bridge "Highline 179". This bridge, which combines parts of the medieval fortress, was the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world at its opening.
