Musica Orizzonte: Baroque sounds during the All Saints' Day in Landeck

On October 18 at 8:00 p.m., the parish church of Landeck will become the stage of the cultural heritage when the Horizonte Landeck works from the early baroque to celebrate the upcoming Allen Saints Day. On this occasion, the "Musica Orizzonte" motorway festival is launched, which is entirely dedicated to the vocal music of this era.

The event, which is under the musical direction of Marian Polish, will list the famous Psalm Collection "Musical Exections" by the sacred master Heinrich Schütz. This work was originally composed for his own funeral service in 1635/36 on behalf of Heinrich Posthumus Reuss. Schütz was known for his talent to create tonal diversity and drama, which becomes clear in his compositions, and the "exequias" are no exception.

The committed musicians: Inside, for example the soprano Katharina Wegscheider and Veronika Mair and the tenor Martin Lechleitner, will be part of the nine -headed ensemble, which plays in the unique acoustics of the Landeck church. This historical environment will help to bring the fascinating sound contrasts and the polyphonic textures that Schütz masterfully mastered.

"Musica Orizzonte" not only sees itself as a concert, but also as an exchange platform between regional and international specialists in old music. The artistic director Martin Lechleitner emphasizes that access to music from the highest quality in these historical rooms is significant added value for the audience. "It is essential that we bring together both regional and international artists to promote the development of this concert series," said Lechleitner.

The concert itself is the start of this new concert series, which deals with the diverse facets of baroque music.
