Kaiserkrone Trailrunning 2025: An adventure for all running enthusiasts
The imperial crown Trailrunning event is back and promises an exciting weekend for sports enthusiasts of all levels. On 27. and June 28, 2025 , the picturesque region of Scheffau am Wilder Kaiser turns into a stronghold for trail runners from all over the world. With an overall offer of 1,000 starting places for different distances, the registration has been since the 19. November open and attracts numerous registrations.
This event offers four different routes, all of which represent unique challenges. The imperial crown Ultra Trail leads the participants over 56 km with a height difference of 3,640 m. This demanding route circles the majestic Kaiser Mountains and leads over steep climbs and technical sections, including the breathtaking natural jewel Hintersteinersee. Such routes are intended for experienced runners who have a mixture of endurance and alpine experience.

The imperial crown Skyrace ensures the adrenaline frenzy, which is also an intensive challenge with 24.7 km and 2,690 m. From the starting point at the Musikpavillon Scheffau it goes directly into the Rehbachklamm and on to the summit of the Sonneck. Here the route is peppered by technical trails and rope -insured passages, which offers an exciting mix of increase and descent.
Beginners and ambitious trail runners find their ideal route in the imperial crown medium trail . At 20.7 km and at 1,290 m, this trail offers a more moderate increase, followed by a technically feasible downhill. This is perfect for all those who want to enjoy their alpine trail running experience.
The imperial crown Short Trail Finally, it is characterized by an 8 km long route, which is ideal for beginners. The route leads through picturesque landscapes and offers moderate climbs and descents that are fantastic in both sports and when exploring the managed alpine pastures.
In order to meet the high demands, the organizers were able to win two experienced experts for the new edition 2025. Lukas Kocher and Gerhard Gstettner bring extensive experience in the organization of trail running events. Kocher is known from the TrailMotion team and has already successfully organized the Tschirgant Skyrun and the Ultra Trails Paznaun in Ischgl. Gstettner launched the Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail and worked in the organization for over a decade. Most recently, he acted as Head of Marketing at the Berglauf- und Trailrun World Championship 2023 in Innsbruck/Stubai and has promoted significant developments in the field of trail running destinations.
