Munich, a center of winter sports, prepares for the market launch of the 2024/25 winter sports season. From November 22, 2024, the ARD will initiate extensive live broadcasts in the first as part of 44 broadcast days. The spectators can look forward to more than 200 hours of program, which focuses on various winter sports. The ARD is not only transferred live, but also offers time -shifted broadcasts as well as summaries and highlights of the competitions.

The introduction of the MultiTream player, which celebrated success during the 2024 Olympic Games, is particularly exciting. With this tool, the use of the over 150 livestreams, of which around 70 are offered exclusively on the web, is more attractive and more user -friendly. The platform promises that winter sports fans will not miss a second of the action, regardless of whether they are sitting in the front row or watching them comfortably from home.

program highlights and experts

Some of the highlights of the winter sports season, which the audience can look forward to, include the four-hill tour. The ARD is broadcast both the New Year's jumping in Garmisch and the third jumping in Innsbruck. Other important events are the Alpine Ski World Cup in Saalbach, the biathlon World Cup in Lenzerheide and the Nordic Ski World Cup in Trondheim. The programs are sent from the WDR's winter sports broadcast in Cologne/Bocklemünd, with experts and commentators also being on site at selected events.

The ARD relies on proven faces in its transmissions. The experts Arnd Peiffer and Erik Lesser will comment in the biathlon as well as Felix Neureuther for skiing and Sven Hannawald for ski jumping. Their experiences and perspectives should convey a comprehensive picture of the competitions to the viewers and let the viewers immerse themselves even more in the action.

digital formats and documentation

In order to further enrich the winter sports offer, the "Sportschau" editorial team has also planned new digital features. This includes a winter sports calendar for the disciplines of skiing alpine, biathlon and ski jumping. In addition, an already established winter sports podcast will return with new episodes. A new weekly format called "Winter Sport Explained" is launched on the TIIKKOK platform to bring the fascination of winter sports closer to a younger audience.

The planned documentary "Tunnelblick - The Duel Lochner against Friedrich" provides more profound insights from December 7th in the ARD Mediathek. History illuminates the rivalry between the two bobsleighs Johannes Lochner and Francesco Friedrich and gives the audience unique insights behind the scenes. In the "Without rifle" series, Michael Antwerpes will have talks with well -known athletes to get deeper insights into their lives and careers. Another documentation addresses the heights and depths of the career of the Olympic champion Andreas Wellinger and is broadcast on January 1st.

These comprehensive preparations illustrate how important winter sports are for the ARD and create anticipation for an exciting winter sports season.

The musical accompaniment of winter sports broadcasts will be given this year by Bell, Book & Candle with the ARD Winter Sports song "It’s Good, Feels Good" and adds a special note to the whole experience.

It remains exciting for further impressions and details, while the ARD is preparing for the new winter season. The spectators can look forward to a variety of exciting competitions and captivating stories that are presented perfectly.
