Engelberg, Schweiz - The Austrian ski jumping director Andreas Widhölzl announced his team for the upcoming four-hill tour on Sunday after Stefan Kraft and Jan Hörl in Engelberg celebrated an impressive double victory in the World Cup. In addition to the two guarantors of success, Michael Hayböck, Manuel Fettner and Daniel Tschofenig are also part of the squad. As the latest access, Clemens Aigner, who qualified in the Continental Cup, will take the sixth place to start. Widhölzl, himself a former tour winner, is proud of the development of his team since taking office in 2020. The coach has managed to create a successful collective that is no longer dependent on Stefan Kraft's performance. Athletes like Daniel Tschofenig have developed from the newcomer to a winner type, while Jan Hörl is considered a constant guarantee. Widhölzl emphasizes that cooperation in the team is essential and everyone brings their part fully. He also emphasizes how important it is to promote the athletes individually and to let them open space, which has proven to be beneficial for motivation. The trainer explains: "It is good for motivation, but it has to be clearly communicated and coherent," said Widhölzl, while he explains his approach to taking into account the personal needs of the athletes, as ORF reports.

The way to tour

The 72nd fourth tour tour is held with four competitions: The start will take place on December 29 in Oberstdorf, followed by the New Year's jumping on January 1st in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the round in Innsbruck on January 3. and the final on January 6th in Bischofshofen. Widhölzl sees the upcoming competition a great opportunity for his squad and is optimistic that these athletes will be called up the necessary performance to shine at this prestigious event. "Of course I would like to win the tour, this is also a goal of us in the supervisor team because it is one of the last titles that still lacks," says his words full of motivation and determination.
