Voitsberger Harmonikaduo conquers Innsbruck: Very good at the folk music competition

In Innsbruck, the 25th Alpine folk music competition, also known as the Herma Haselsteiner Prize, was recently held. The talented harmonica duo "Felix & Lenny", consisting of Felix Zwantschko and Lenny Lednik from the Voitsberg Music School, set off to impress the jury and the audience with their skills. The duo was accompanied by teacher Andreas Amreich and family members, which made the performance a special experience.

The Tyrolean folk music association organized this prestigious event, which offered a platform for over 20 groups from different regions. The train journey from Graz to Innsbruck was already a musical attunement in which the artists designed the six hours of playing music together. On the first day of the event there was a musical meeting in the Congress Innsbruck, in which "Felix & Lenny" was a first sample of her talent.

impressive performances

On the following two days, the two Voitsberger were able to demonstrate their skills in the scoring games. They contributed to the atmosphere at the events "G’sungen und G’spielt" and enriched an afternoon concert with their sounds. The highlight of the festivities was a dance evening with Franz Posch, who turned the concert hall into a pulsating dance hall.

On the third day the time had come: The two musicians performed for the rating and convinced the jury with their selected pieces "Mei Schatzerl" and the "Schönauer Waltz". The jury even allowed them to play another piece out of their repertoire, which ended with the Großarler Polka. The audience was enthusiastic and the jury praised the appearance.

To the delight of the two musicians, the predicate "very good" was announced at the end of the competition, according to which the results were announced. The festive evening in the Tirol hall, in which more than 2,000 guests took part, then represented the crowning glory of the competition, in which the best groups performed again. With a certificate and an abundance of valuable impressions, "Felix & Lenny" returned to their home country Styria and already planned to take part in 2026.

This competition is important because it supports the promotion of traditional folk music in the region and offers talents a large stage to present their skills. The return of "Felix & Lenny" in the next competitions shows the commitment and passion for the music that both artists distinguish.
