Stau-alarm: Pfänder tunnel until April only accessible to a limited extent!

In the Pfänder tunnel in Vorarlberg, temporary renovation work is currently taking place, which should be completed on April 11th. This work requires the blocking of a lane on working days, which leads to considerable traffic jams at peak times. According to vorarlberg.orf.at there are over 40,000 vehicles on the A14 every day, which further tightens the situation. From April 11, the tunnel will only be blocked at night, and traffic can flow again during the day towards Innsbruck with two open traces. In addition, the west tube is closed from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. These nightly work is expected to continue until the beginning of October.

parallel to these renovation measures there are other construction sites on the A14. From March 24th, repair work will begin at the Klaus-Koblach junction, where four bridges are also renovated. Here, two traces should remain accessible per direction, while the junction remains open. The work in Klaus-Koblach should be finished by the beginning of December. These measures are part of a comprehensive renovation, which is also included in the eastern tube of the Pfänder tunnel in 2026, as reported.
