Two accidents of work in Tyrol: luck in misfortune for those affected
On Thursday, October 31, 2024, two remarkable accidents of work occurred in Tyrol, which fortunately did not lead to serious injuries. In Matrei am Brenner, a tractor overturned, while at the same time in Westendorf another incident took place with a truck.
The first incident took place in Matrei around 2:20 p.m. A 42-year-old Austrian was busy with fertilization when his tractor slipped and overturned. In this critical moment, the man managed to jump off in time and to remain unharmed. Nevertheless, a tire of the tractor rolled onto the Brennerbundesstraße, which led to a temporary closure of the street. The emergency services had to act quickly to remedy the situation and clear the road.
Another accident in Westendorf
The second incident occurred in the morning, around 8:40 a.m. in Westendorf. There, a 60-year-old worker tipped to the side in the alpine terrain as he unloaded a truck. Fortunately, the driver was able to free himself. He was immediately flown to the Kufstein hospital with injuries. He initially received medical help on site from rescue workers.
The fact that both men were able to save themselves is just as noteworthy as the quick reaction of the emergency services. Such incidents are dangerous, but also show how important both careful work practices and the ability to react quickly in emergency situations.
The police examined the bodies in question in both cases to clarify the exact circumstances of the accidents. Special caution is required in the current changeable weather conditions, especially in mountainous regions such as Tyrol.
