Gymnastics festival in Linz: Young talents celebrate medal record

The past weekend was all about gymnastics and was a truly great event. The 19th Future Cup took place in Linz in the Tips Arena, a competition that gathered more than 200 young gymnasts from 21 countries who fought for medals. At the same time, Innsbruck experienced his season highlight in the turn10, where over 720 active athletes from 99 different clubs came together to show their skills.

The performance of the athletes of SV Flic-Flac Wels, who exceeded all expectations with their results, was particularly impressive.

Success of SV Flic-Flac Wels

On Saturday Manuel Sammer was the star of the day. In the age group 13-14 he gave everything in a strong field of 17 gymnasts and achieved second place with 92.25 points, making him vice-national champion. His trainer, Daniel Gattinger, was visibly proud: "He has worked hard in the past few weeks, and that is now evident."

Sunday was even more spectacular for the team. All six starters of the Wels team made it to the podium. Christina Reisinger crowned the federal champion, while Lisi Gatterbauer, Manuela Zwirchmair, Lena Ganster and Wolfgang Haidinger won the Vice Federal Championship title. Daniel Gattinger was also able to support the excellent result with a third place in his age group.

The overall balance of the weekend showed an impressive 100%medal yield for the athletes of SV Flic-Flac Wels, proof of the high level of Austrian gymnastics and the great talent of the participants. The trainers were enthusiastic about the successes and the use of their protégés who had worked with them this weekend.

The gymnastics sport in Austria shows once again how much commitment and talent is in the scene. Such competitions are not only important for the athletes themselves, but also for the development of sport across the country. The success of the Wels gymnasts will certainly inspire other talents, to follow their sporting dreams and to take part in competitions.
