Thomas Mader: New SPÖ member with a vision for Döbling!

Thomas Mader is now officially new MP in the Vienna City Council and Landtag. The Mader, born in Vienna in 1965, had previously worked as a deputy district leader in Döbling since 2018. He has been politically active since 2000. SPÖ club chairman Josef Taucher congratulated Mader for ordering and emphasized his extensive local political experience. Mader himself said that he wanted to work for a livable and socially just Vienna, which will play a central role in his future political plans. His professional career began in 1982 as a worker for the municipality of Vienna, and he completed his training as a surveying technician in the second educational path.

In the past, Mader worked on the construction of a structurally separate bike path in Krottenbachstrasse. He pays special attention to social housing, especially on Leidesdorfgasse, where 80 affordable apartments are to be built in the near future. The construction progress in the municipal building are perceived as too slow. Mader also criticizes the inadequate citizen participation in Döbling and calls for an increase in this by innovative mobility offers and projects.

political focus and goals

Thomas Mader is the SPÖ top candidate for the municipal elections on April 27th. His goals include improving citizen participations and suggestions to optimize Döblings connection to other districts. Specifically, he brought the extension of the 38A bus and the introduction of articulated buses on public holidays and weekends. Mader also plans a flexible transport service called "Vienna Mobil-Hüpfer", which should work similarly to a taxi.

An important point on Maders Agenda is also the subsidized residential building, which is intended to enable young people to stay in the district and find affordable living space. The current renovation measures provide for investments of 500 million euros to improve existing infrastructure projects and to implement new projects. In this context, Mader emphasized the success of the Döblinger SPÖ, how to renovate the family outdoor pool and the master plan.

living in Vienna

The residential construction in Vienna is regulated by a strict competition and selection processes that aim at criteria such as economy, ecology, social sustainability and architecture. About half of the subsidized apartments in Vienna are currently particularly cheap smart apartments. Each new building ensures that at least one third of the Vienna residential advice is awarded to ensure social mix. These measures are part of the model of residential building funding, which is intended to create high -quality, needs -oriented and environmentally friendly living space, which is also of great importance for Thomas Mader.

In summary, it can be said that Thomas Mader goes into his new role with clear goals in order to improve the quality of life in Döbling and to strengthen citizen participation. As he emphasizes himself, he sees the potential for the further development of the district and wants to bring the climate team to Döbling in order to promote sustainable initiatives.
