Diving drama in the Philippines: Russian divers discovered in Hai-Maul!

In a tragic incident, two Russian divers died in a popular Philippines diving area. The two men, who belonged to a group of four divers, were on the main island of Luzon near the city of Batangas on Thursday when they were separated from their companies by strong flow water. While the other divers were able to return to the boat safely, the bodies of the two men were discovered hours later, as the local coast guard reported.

The circumstances of death are particularly shocking: a diver was recovered dead in the mouth of a shark. The head of the coast guard, Airland Lapitan, explained that the man was already considered dead when he was salvaged while he was in the throat of the animal. "When the rescue workers found him, he was pulled by a shark," said Lapitan and added that the diver was missing. It remains unclear whether the diver had already died before the shark attack. Hair attacks in the Philippines waters have been extremely rare in recent years, and according to a global database, there have been no documented incidents for at least one year.
