Köflach celebrates the biggest cramp of the Lipizzanerheimat!
November 23 brings a special atmosphere to Köflach, because the city becomes a stage for one of the largest Krampus runs in the region. Matthias Pichler and his team from the Köflacher Gruam Tifl organized everything to welcome 45 groups and around 650 participants. This not only promises a spectacular show, but also a lot of fun for the whole family.
The preparations are already in full swing, and it is hard to believe that all hotels in Köflach and Maria Lankowitz are already fully booked. Some participant groups even had to switch to Bärnbach and Voitsberg, as the accommodation opportunities nearby quickly became rare.
an exciting program
The evening begins at 5:40 p.m. with the solemn move of St. Nicholas in the main square. At 5:50 p.m. the children's cramping run starts, followed by the main run at 6:00 p.m. when it says: "Hell is going!" Here, 650 Krampus -like figures from all over Austria are expected. Parents can register their children up to 0676/31 33 039 if they bring their own Krampus mask.
The moving route extends from Zweirad Bratschko, where the action zone begins. This special zone is an area in which there is no strokes to offer families and children a safe experience. The move leads via Rathausplatz to Volksbank Köflach.
Culinary delights and safety precautions
Along the route, guests can look forward to a wide culinary offer. From traditional Langos to Salzburg pretzels to mulled wine and punch, there is something for everyone. A certain highlight are the numerous stalls that sweeten the anticipation on the move with treats.
The security of the guests is top: 45 folders, the fire brigade and the Red Cross Voitsberg-Köflach guarantee a safe environment. A first aid station will be set up in the Rathaus-Passage for emergencies, and an emergency doctor is also available.
In order to further increase security, each moving participant receives a clearly visible number that must be attached to the bell belt. In this way, the Krampuses can be clearly identified. Participants who do not adhere to this rule must expect to be excluded from the move.
After the exciting move, the evening does not end, because a large anniversary party of the Gruam Tifl takes place in the Köflach sports hall. With free admission, Deejay Lone Wolf will provide good music and have the celebrations enjoyed to the fullest.
For those who want to learn more about the exciting event, available. It is certain that November 23 will be a spectacle that will not be forgotten so quickly in the Lipizzanerstadt.
