Winter season starts early: Gaal lifts open on November 23rd
Already next Saturday, November 23, the ski season will open in the Gaaler Liften. Thanks to favorable weather conditions and extensive preparations such as additional snowmaking systems, winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to an early winter season. "With us, it is actually already winter," said Peter Hopf, the person responsible for the Gaaler Liften, full of anticipation.
After the investment of around 320,000 euros in the improvements of the snowmaking system and the ski rental station last year, those responsible were able to guarantee a successful start. "Our motivated team used every cold minute to create optimal conditions," continued Hopf. This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, the drag lifts and the "Ski Gaalaxy" are in operation from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
gastronomic offer
Not only on the slopes is offered something to the audience, the gastronomy has also prepared. "Our gastronomy is fully available again this year," said Hopf. A relaxed refreshment swing in the Gaalerhof and other restaurants will soon be possible, which offers visitors additional incentives.
From November 30th, the regular operating sequence will then be recorded. Before that, from November 25th to 29th there is the opportunity for groups to use the lifts after prior appointment. This appeals to both skiers and snowboarders who want to enjoy the white-covered slopes at an early stage.

The enthusiasm for the opening of the ski season is not limited to the Gaal lifts. On the other Murtal ski mountains, it is also a lot of work for winter. The Kreischberg and Lachtal-Lifts are planned for Friday, December 6th to start the season. The Turracher Höhe will start the company a little earlier, but there are still precise information on this, as Managing Director Fritz Gambs explains.
The preparations and investments in infrastructure and snowmaking are crucial to ensure that the winter season becomes an unforgettable experience for both the locals and for the many vacationers. The overall positive feedback and the impressive efforts made by the employees of the Gaaler Liften promise a successful ski season.
