Community experiences and anniversaries: Murtal celebrates with new ideas

In the Murtal region, there are currently some exciting developments that affect both cultural experiences and significant decisions. The people responsible for the museums in Murtal have recently celebrated significant archaeological anniversaries. The concise decision for a merging of the institutions was made. This innovation takes place at the appropriate time, since the Museum Murtal looks back at a proud five years and also celebrates archaeological research on the Falkenberg and 13 years of the Falkenberg working group. These milestones were duly appreciated, whereby the organizations not only focused on the success, but also on the challenges of recent years.

Franz Bachmann and Grete Gruber gave a look back at the beginnings of their projects in their speeches. The financial challenges in which own funds were an important topic were particularly emphasized. Overall, it is a sum of 2.5 million euros, which is urgently needed. "With every funding, we had to advance with our own funds," said Bachmann. Thanks to the support of sponsors, however, the future looks optimistic: "Today we are debt -free." The plans for the future include that the Museum Murtal will merge with the city museum in the next two years, which could bundle the resources, such as staff and finance.

lantern walk delights the Knittelfeld citizens

On November 15, a lantern walk took place in Knittelfeld, which was a special highlight for the smallest residents of the city. Numerous families appeared with colorful, shining lanterns on the main square and experienced an atmospheric evening that touched the hearts of everyone present. The train went to the city park with musical accompaniment, where the children sang familiar songs together, including "I go with my lantern" and "Lantern, lantern, lantern, sun, moon and stars".

A special highlight of the event was the appearance of Alena Graßegger-Sundl, who enchanted the little guests with beautiful light angels. In order to end the evening comfortably, there were tea, cookies and chestnuts for all participants, which were made available by Klaus Baran. This was not only a joy for the children, but also created a real community experience that also inspired the adults.

police relies on dialogue with the population

The police also took a remarkable step towards community binding. The “Coffee With Cops” campaign creates a space in which citizens can talk to police officers in a relaxed atmosphere. The last campaign took place in Weißkirchen and the next is planned for November 27th in Murau. There, citizens can ask their questions between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. near the BIPA branch and get into conversation with the police. Representatives of the Novum girls' and women's advice center are also available to advise helpful and informative.

These events in Murtal show how diverse the cultural and social life is in the region. Whether it is about the standardization of museums, the creation of community experiences such as the lantern walk or the dialogue between the police and the population - developments are eagerly awaited and offer citizens a variety of opportunities for participation.
