Take new leadership for district administration: Wiesegger-Eck and Plöbst

The district administration Murau and Leibnitz have found new leaders. After a thorough selection process, which was accompanied by an external personnel consulting company, the new head of the authorities are determined. Mag. Karin Wiesegger-Eck will lead the Leibnitz district administration, while Peter Plöbst will take responsibility for the Murau district administration.

The Hearings that took place as part of this selection process brought unanimous recommendations for both candidates. On August 15, 2024, the Styrian Objectification Act came into force. This law regulates that high -ranking positions in the state service must be publicly advertised. This means that the selection process is made transparent and understandably - a step that is important for both the candidates and the public.

The new head of the authorities

Karin Wiesegger-Eck has worked as a lawyer at the Leibnitz district administration since 2000. From 2001 to 2012 she was responsible for the security department and has been heading the plant presentation since 2012. In October 2023 she was appointed deputy of the district captain and thus brings extensive experience into her new role.

Peter Plöbst, on the other hand, started his career in 1992 in the department for business, art and culture, where he worked at the Judenburg district administration. From 2005 he took over the management of the plant department and was deputy district captain in the BH Murtal. His experience and expertise make him a suitable candidate for the management of the BH Murau.

Both new heads of the agency should compete their offices from December 1, 2024. The state government will confirm these recommendations in the next meeting, which is a further step in the optimization of the public service in Styria.
