Focus on Styria: New government program for more stability!
Liezen, Österreich - On December 17, 2024, a new coalition government of FPÖ and ÖVP was presented in Styria, which is the fifth alliance of this kind in Austria. The government plans include significant measures, especially in the areas of immigration and integration. The new state government provides for a clear value orientation that focuses on the protection of home and strengthening economic development. Manuela Khom, now as a deputy governor, expects a citizen-related, efficient and transparent policy that meet the current challenges with responsibility. "We want to implement concrete measures to continue to bring Styria forward," said Khom. In this context, the coalition talks between the FPÖ and ÖVP, which dragged on for a long time, also found their conclusion, which led to the agreement on different programs to secure the stability and quality of life in the region.
However, the opposition expressed criticism of the new government and doubted the seriousness of its obligations. SPÖ boss Max Lercher described the situation as "chaos instead of honest work" and called for a clear direction in combating unemployment and economic challenges in Styria.
