New MRI in LKH South Styria: Better diagnostics for Wagna from 2025
The recent installation of a new magnetic resonance imaging device (MRI) in the Landesklinhaus South Styria in Wagna is a significant progress in the region's medical care. From the end of January 2025, patients will be able to benefit from faster diagnoses and shortened waiting times. The prestige project, for whose implementation around 7 million euros are planned, has recently been successfully completed.
In November 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony for the conversion of the MRI area was carried out. Since then, numerous technical and structural challenges have been mastered that required precise planning and implementation. The new MRI device was delivered with specially developed transport methods and integrated into the facility after a millimeter planning to ensure optimal functionality and diagnostic accuracy.
sustainable construction and new infrastructure
The extension on the parking facade on two bases not only offers space for the MRI, but also for extended functional rooms, personnel wardrobes with modern sanitary facilities and a technical room. A green roof reinforces the environmentally friendly aspects of the project and at the same time ensures harmonious integration into the natural environment.
A total of around 120 people were involved in the planning and implementation of this project, with more than 95 percent of the orders to go to companies from Styria. This close cooperation not only supports the local economy, but also contributes to the regional identity of patient care.
progress in health care
The implementation of the new MRI system not only contributes to improving medical diagnostics, but also to create an inviting and patient-friendly atmosphere. "With the settlement of the MRI, we have created the opportunity to increase the medical quality on site and to grant the patient access to necessary diagnoses without having to accept long journey," said Primarius Othmar Grabner, the medical director of the LKH South Styria
The importance of this project is evident through the planning of the health fund, which supports the implementation of the MRI location in order to guarantee patient care in the region in the long term. The investment not only strengthens the attractiveness of LKH South Styria, but also ensures that the satisfaction of the patients remains at a high level.
