Folke Tegetthoff takes you into the quiet time: Charity reading in Seggau
On Sunday, December 8, 2024, a special event will take place in the Congress Hall of the Hotel Schloss Seggau, which appeals to the artistic soul of the region. The famous storyteller Folke Tegetthoff will take the audience into the magical world of Advent time with its magical stories from 7 p.m. However, this event not only pursues a cultural purpose: the proceeds will benefit the Leibnitz association Lifft to acquire therapy materials for children with special needs.
The Rotary Club Leibnitz organized this charity Advent reading together with its members. Peter Masser, the President of the Rotary Club, said: "With the Charity Advent reading in favor of the Lifft association, we bring a special event that will be all about creativity and charity." The musical accompaniment is taken over by Maria Masser and Anna Melchiar.
The meaning of the Advent time
folke Tegetthoff will not only tell stories, but also to explore the deeper meaning of the Advent season. "I have had a program for many years that deals with the meaning of the advent. What is celebrated and what is important?" Tegetthoff describes his philosophy. He criticizes the consumer frenzy of modern Christmas season and would like to focus on the feeling of contemplation and listening.
"We all have the memory of the quiet time and the deeper meaning of Advent. His motto "Let me build a quiet time in your head!" illustrates his concern to stimulate the listener to think.
The project lifft
The association Lifft, which is devoted to the support of children and families with special needs, has a committed team of 16 employees. These look after 65 families in family relief and 70 families in early funding every week. In order to further improve the therapy offers, support from the proceeds from the proceeds of the charity Advent reading is of great importance.
"In the club's own gymnastics hall we offer numerous sensory opportunities for children and their families," explains the chairwoman Renate Andrä-Heil. Donations from the event are used to buy components for a course and buy a nest swing. "We still lack therapy materials for very small children, the parents can also borrow materials for at home," she adds.
President Masser from Rotary emphasizes the importance of regional funding: "We want the donations and income to remain in the Leibnitz region." The director of Seggau Castle, Andrea-Kager-Schwar, is enthusiastic about the event: "Large events take place regularly at Seggau Castle. With the Charity Advent reading, we live the spirit of Rotary and support the magic of Advent."
The advance booking cards for the event cost 28 euros and are available from all members of the Rotary Club Leibnitz and in the Gasthaus Rupp in Tillmitsch. At the box office, the price is 30 euros. The combination of narrative art and regional engagement awaits visitors to history with great anticipation.
