3,000 members cheer: Climbing hall in Hartberg starts season 2024/25
In the Hartberg Alpine Association, there is reason to be happy: With Sonja Kuntner from Birkfeld, the 3,000th member of the association was welcomed. The official recording took place for the opening of the climbing hall in the Stadtwerke-Hartberg-Halle for the 2024/25 season. The first chairman, Egbert Pfleger, was not only Sonja Kuntner, but also the 2,999th member, Günter Fiedler with his daughter Lena from Greinbach, as well as the 3.001st member, Elena Lutzmann from Grafendorf, welcome and presented gifts.
The importance of this event is not only in the number of members, but also in the role of the climbing hall itself. This is open from October 1 to April 30th and offers all climbing enthusiasts numerous new routes designed by Andreas Fischer and his team. The hall is open Monday to Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., whereby a person responsible is always on site.
Various offers for climbing friends
The Hartberg section is one of the largest of its kind in the region, which is largely due to the diverse range of the climbing hall. In addition to the regular opening times, special courses for children from 8 years and for adults are also offered to make it easier to get started. An additional highlight for members is the option of lending two free Styria climate protection tickets.
During the small celebration in the climbing hall, Mayor Marcus Martschitsch also thanked the person responsible for their tireless efforts and wished everyone an accident -free climbing season.
