Revolutionary Communists in Graz: New party demands radical change
in Graz on November 9th a new political force formed: the "Revolutionary Communist Party" (RKP), which has quickly become established in the city and has already become active. With a прямом call on social media to reject capitalism, the party is promoting supporters who want to participate in their revolutionary vision. The RKP sees itself as part of a movement that does not see capitalism on its own, but wants to bring strategically.
The RKP chose the "Gmota" restaurant in Münzgrabenstrasse as its central point of contact in Graz. This club can be operated by a non -profit association and receives support from the district council of Jakomini and from the mayor's office. Mayor Elke Kahr, however, quickly makes it clear that there are no political connections to the RKP. It describes the new party as chaotic and considers the KPÖ to be more stable and politically sensible strength.
the RKP and its ideology
The RKP sharply criticizes both the Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) and the KPÖ. In their eyes, these parties are willing to give up their principles for power and influence. The RKP follows a radical Marxist
agenda and is convinced that many Austrians are more positive than often assumed to communism. While a survey by the Gallup Institute shows that a significant majority of the population is negative of communist ideals, the RKP sees an opportunity to gain new followers. Events such as "class struggle and revolution" should arouse interest in their ideas and toast discussions.
In addition to its political activities, the RKP also organizes "pro-Palestine demos" and classifies the Russian attack on Ukraine as a trade war. These topics have found response in many people who are looking for alternative perspectives."The KPÖ is silent about the attacks of the bourgeois and stylizes itself as a pure auxiliary and carita party."
The police have an eye on the activities of the RKP. According to the State Office for State Security and Extremism Control, the party is known, but so far there have been no negative investigations or incidents that put them in the poor light. The RKP itself also confirms that it is active in Graz and plans to hold a panel discussion on the international day of solidarity with the Palestinian people together with other organizations.
The urban interaction with the new political group remains waiting. So far there are no signs of measures or prohibited. However, the further development of the RKP and its activities in Graz could mean that the political landscape in the region is shaken up.
