Industrial snow: Dangerous weather phenomenon surprises the cities of Austria!
An unusual meteorological phenomenon has affected Austria, especially Vienna, Graz and the Klagenfurt pool, in the past few days: the industrial snow. While the weather in large parts of Europe is shaped by a stable high-pressure area with a clear sky, tough fog has formed over the urban areas, which led to snow, such as Zamg Fest. The chemical analysis also shows that this snow is more stressed with pollutants, which is due to the anthropogenic formation.
The specific conditions for the development of industrial snow include the presence of high fog and an inversion layer that delimits a cold layer of air from warmer. These weather conditions can be observed in the central and eastern regions of Austria, especially in the winter months when high -pressure areas bring cold air out of the east and stimulate the moisture of nearby waters such as Lake Neusiedlerson and Lake Lake. Together with weak wind conditions, the industrial snow could also occur locally in urban areas, while in other regions there were often no snowfalls registered.
