Bomb threats unsettle schools in St. Pölten and Graz!
Again, threats caused massive school closings in Austria: On Tuesday, due to bomb threats by email, the lessons were discontinued in several schools in St. Pölten, Lower Austria. These threats that were received at night led to a chaos because it was unclear which schools were affected. Parents were informed about the closures, but this was often too late, so that many students remained at home from caution, such as krone.at reported.

But the problem was not only limited to St. Pölten. Also in Graz, three schools were closed due to similar threatmails on the same day. In addition, the authorities reported school closings in Upper Austria and Carinthia. In order to ensure a safe learning environment for the pupils, distance learning was introduced, as Situation.
The authorities have now announced that they have developed more routine in the handling of such incidents. However, it remains to be seen which consequences are drawn from these threats. The educational protection and the safety of the students are still in the top priority.
