59-year-old from Graz unleashes chaos: several accidents with injuries!

A 59-year-old man from Graz is the focus of a police investigation after having deliberately caused several traffic accidents in Styria on Friday afternoon. The incidents occurred around 3:50 p.m. along the Eisenstrasse (B115) in Trofaiach, where at least three accidents were registered according to the first reports. According to oe24 , two children were slightly injured in the collisions.

After the accidents, the alleged driver fled from the scene of the accident. The police received several advertisements about the incidents shortly before 4:00 p.m. and immediately initiated a search for the fleeting vehicle. The heavily damaged dark car of the 59-year-old was later found in a parking lot in Leoben, but the driver was initially not found. However, the man was identified by testimonies near the vehicle and was taken to the hospital for further clarification. No further information has been available through its current state of health.

Investigations and possible consequences

The police do not rule out that the man caused further accidents. "We ask the injured party to report," said a spokesman who emphasized the urgency of the situation. Investigators assume at least three intentionally brought-out clashes, which makes the risk and risk of other road users clear, as also makes the Kleine Zeitung reported.

The psychological consequences of such accidents are far -reaching and often not immediately recognizable. Traffic accidents can lead to serious psychological impairments, including post -traumatic stress disorders (PTBS) and other psychological complaints. A study by the Federal Institute for Roads (BAST) has shown that about a quarter of the seriously injured people in inpatient treatment indicates psychological problems that can occur even without physical injuries, such as DGUV determined.

help everyone affected

The psychotherapeutic approaches that can be used to process such experiences include exposure therapies. These methods have proven to be helpful to treat the fears and stresses resulting from an accident. In particular, the use of driving simulators can help those affected gradually get used to driving and overcome their fears, which can be decisive when recovering after traumatic events.

The current incidents in Styria illustrate the need to take both the physical and the psychological consequences of traffic accidents seriously and take suitable measures to support those affected.
