Styria is investing in 3D printing: Future of training in Eibiswald

In an important step towards modernizing training, the state of Styria has strengthened its cooperation with the state guilds of the mechatronics engineers and the electrical, building, alarm and communication technicians. Together they invested in innovative industrial 3D printer for the state vocational school in Eibiswald. This initiative aims to bring the latest technologies in the field of electrical installation technology and radio mechanics closer to the apprentices.

The decision to purchase a total of three 3D printers was made in order to optimally prepare the trainees for the requirements of modern industry. At the regional vocational school in Eibiswald, almost 1,700 pupils are trained in professions such as electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics and IT. The state of Styria recognizes the importance of this development and has therefore expanded the technical facilities.

Presentation of the devices

The new 3D printer were presented in a special laboratory that was only opened five years ago. Vocational school teachers Manfred Lampl explained to those present how the printers work and showed the first manufactured products. The special thing about these printers is that they can produce tailor-made housings and prototypes from plastic cords that can be brought into various forms by heating in various forms. These technologies offer the students the opportunity to gain practical experience and implement their own ideas.

The costs for the devices are borne by various regional institutions. The guilds of the mechatronics engineers and the electrical, building, alarm and communication technicians together contributed 17,292 euros, while the state of Styria contributed 10,164 euros for accessories. This cooperation between educational institutions and industry is crucial to meet the requirements of the modern world of work.

"We stand for dual training at our state vocational schools and invest in these schools," said Werner Amon, State Councilor for Europe, International Affairs, Education and Personnel. He is convinced that the investment in state -of -the -art technologies will be a great advantage for the location because it raises the training of future specialists at a new level.

Another highlight of the event was a Sacher cake that was the logo of the Landesfahrschule and was intended as a sweet gift for the State Council Amon. This gesture ensured a bit of fun and joy on the edge of the more formal presentations, but also illustrated the link between education and community.

In summary, it can be said that the introduction of 3D printing technology at the State Vocational School in Eibiswald is a step into the future of craftsmanship. Investments not only create new opportunities for apprentices, but also strengthen the connection between business and education in this region.
