Focus on Styria: elections, Krampus run and agriculture in change
In Styria, the results of the state elections were published on Monday, and now there are already initial discussions about possible coalitions. The SPÖ, led by Anton Lang, and the ÖVP, led by Christopher Drexler, have signaled their willingness to negotiate. The coming days will be decisive for the political landscape of the federal state.
Another exciting event was the largest cramp on Styria, which attracted numerous visitors. Safety is the top priority in the organization of such mass events. Therefore, a large number of paramedics were mobilized to keep an eye on the 13,000 people present. In addition to the security organization, we also spoke to the participants who hide behind the creepy masks. It was interesting to find out which motives they drive and what fascinates them about this tradition. The "Hollenegger Schlossteifl" group was part of the party and brought their own grade into this spectacle.
diverse topics in the region
In addition to the celebration, there was also a serious discussion on the role of agriculture in the context of the climate crisis. This is particularly important because agriculture is severely affected by climatic changes. As part of the educational program "Soil from which we live", one wants to give people more awareness of geological topics. In particular, geology in the Styrian Vulkanland is discussed here.
In the region, a charity campaign was also launched that specifically supports a mother and son. Such initiatives show how important communal aid is in difficult times and the importance of solidarity in society.
For those interested, there will soon be a symposium for the nomination of the iron road in Leoben. This shows the commitment to promoting and developing regional highlights. In addition, the Rotary Club Steierska-Štajermark meets to network family organizations in the nursing sector and to support their important work for this often invisible group.
These events illustrate the diverse dynamics in Styria, where both social and political issues go hand in hand. Further information can be found here.
