Strong performance of the Stainz judoka at the school tournament in Graz

The Judo student tournament of the Styrian State Association ended with remarkable results for the Raiffeisen Stainz judo section. The balance sheet is impressive: Five gold, two silver and five bronze medals fought the young athletes under the guidance of head coach Christa Schimpel. This ensures fourth place in the overall ranking of the competitive series.

A total of around two hundred fighters from twenty clubs competed in the ASSKÖ Stadion Graz-Eggenberg last weekend, including 17 determined athletes from Stainz. Despite the strong competition, the Stainz athletes completed the tournament season with flying colors. The participants belonged to the age groups U8, U10, U12 and U14, which made competition particularly exciting.

The medal ranks

With impressive performance, a large part of the Stainz athletes fought on the podium. Enjoyable 70% of the participants were able to win a medal, with almost a third even achieved first place. Particularly noteworthy is Jana Pignitter, who competed in two weight classes and once won gold and once silver. The training work and the preparations paid off: "It was a great tournament success," said an enthusiastic Christa Schimpel.

The next event for the judo section has already been determined: On December 22nd, a belt test will take place in the sports hall Stainz. Special value is placed on the exact execution of the throwing, case and floor techniques. The trainers are motivated to further improve their skills and successfully master this new milestone.
