A look behind the scenes: Open day in the Kirschallee
The nursing home Kirschallee in Germany recently opened its doors for interested guests and offered them the opportunity to get to know the facility better. An open house offered various house tours and numerous information on the topics of living and working in Kirschallee. Employees of ZAM and the AMS job exchange were also on site to answer questions.
In the Kirschallee, the values such as empathy, respectful handling and security are clearly in the foreground in old age. Despite the size of the facility, which currently houses 118 residents and supported by 112 employees, there is an inviting and homely atmosphere inside. The nursing home consists of several floors in which the residents are assigned different stations depending on the need for care.
insights into the care facility
The structure of the Kirschallee includes fully equipped kitchen and a laundry in the basement as well as two different stations for the residents. The oldest resident is an impressive 99 years old, while the youngest resident is only 45. Birthday celebrations take place every two months in the home and ensure joy and sociable hours.
With a proportion of women of 85 percent among the 112 employees, the facility particularly stands out because all managers are female. The personnel manager, Elisabeth Krois, emphasizes the importance of internal training and the strong presence of volunteers who bring variety to everyday life.
An important feature of the Kirschallee is the focus on regionality. Around 160 lunches are portioned every day and prepared in your own kitchen. The laundry also plays a central role: around 400 kilograms of laundry are processed every day, which supports the operation enormously.
In addition to the standard offers, there are special activities organized by a certified senior animator. These range from movement exercises to thinking and singing. The hairdresser and foot care are available for personal care.An exciting innovation are the recently introduced iPads, which enable nursing staff to do the documentation directly during their work with the residents. The introduction of such technologies, even the use of chatt, aims to optimize the documentation processes and save time.
The open house also visited by school classes, including from the Burgstall technical school and the HAK/HAS Deutschlandsberg. For the future, the participants are invited to make an informative appointment at any time if you missed the day. Further information on the offers of the Kirschallee is available online at www.kurschallee.at .
The nursing home Kirschallee is therefore not only a place of living and care, but also as a room for encounter and community. The atmosphere and the services offered show how important it is to meet the needs and wishes of the older generation and to make them a pleasant life as possible.
