Respiratory protection exercise of the fire brigades in Deutschlandsberg: Saving in an emergency

On Saturday, November 9, 2024, exciting exercises by the local fire brigade took place at the Liechtenstein sawmill in Deutschlandsberg. This annual respiratory protection exercise, which was organized at the invitation of the company fire brigade, brought together firefighters from the entire section 01. Obi Wolfgang Garber, the section officer, was instrumental in the development of the exercise scenarios and ensured the necessary preparation.

The exercises included a demanding rescue from a smoky basement that had to cope with the participants in several teams. The focus was not only on the practical skills, but also on the theoretical knowledge. So the respiratory protection teams had to answer some questions in order to demonstrate their understanding of the equipment and their handling. In particular, the correct use of the pressed air actors was a central point of the training.

participants and words of thanks

A remarkable number of 36 emergency services was on site that day, and at the final exercise discussion, Abi Andreas Herk expressed his thanks for the committed participation. Such exercises are not only important for practical training, but also strengthen cohesion and teamwork among the firefighters.
