Schäxpir 2025: Festival for young theater celebrates new horizons!
Linz, Österreich - The renowned theater festival Schäxpir, which pays special attention to long -lasting impressions with a young audience, takes place for the 13th time in Linz. From June 3 to 14, 2025, the festival will present numerous performances and events with the motto "What remains". The artistic direction of the festival is in the hands of Sara Ostertag and Julia Ransmayr, who focus on significant questions about origin and future.
Schäxpir offers a total of 25 productions from 11 different nations this year, including six premieres and numerous workshops. The aim of the festival is to create sensations through dealing with topics such as relationships, climate change and future that are remembered. In particular, the multicultural approaches with which large global stories - from stories to myths and fairy tales - are treated are worth mentioning. Krone.at reports that the connection with social responsibility and education is particularly prominent as part of this festival.
variety of formats and new venues
This year the festival will be carried out for the first time for eleven days, which gives schools the opportunity to attend ideas. The Pentecost holidays fall into the festival period, which facilitates family visits. In addition to known venues, the event is also carried out for the first time in new locations such as the grandstand and the Ursulinensaal in the Ursulinenhof, which belongs to the Landestheater. Here the viewers can experience the wide -ranging variety of formats that ranges from dance to acting to new theater forms.
an engagement for sustainability
In the context of climate change and the search for sustainable solutions, the event is also inspired by external initiatives. In Germany, for example, numerous theaters with ecological topics and questions about the production conditions of representative art are busy. The [Sustainability Action Network] (https://aktensnetzwerk-Nachhaltigkeit.de/projekte/klimawerkstatt-theater/) emphasizes that the Klimawerkstatt Theater 2021 was launched in order to take into account the needs for ecological responsibility and sustainable practice. Such initiatives can serve as a valuable source of inspiration for the artists at the festival.
maps for the Schäxpir festival are already available, and broad cooperation with three courses at Anton Bruckner University supports the integration of future theater makers into this lively cultural event.
