Contemplative night of the 1000 lights: anticipation on All Saints' Day in Lungau

In the evening in front of All Saints' Day, the festive activities of the "Night of 1000 Lights" took place in many churches of the lung. This special event served to enable visitors to get a quiet and contemplative entry into the upcoming holidays. The event was organized by about 50 parishes of the Archdiocese of Salzburg, including the Lungau parishes Mauterndorf, St. Michael, Tamsweg and Mariapfarr.

The new youth leader of the Catholic Youth Salzburg for the Lungau region, Yvonne Roßmann, reported the great response: hundreds of people came together to experience the spiritual atmosphere in a contemplative environment. That evening the churches offered an unexpectedly different backdrop, in which different stations invited to pause and think. The goal was to discover the holiness and the healing aspects of faith.

commitment of the youth and the communities

The organization of this special night was in the hands of young people, including firm candidates from St. Michael and a group of young people from five Lungau parishes in Mariapfarr. They received support from the Chor Zommxunga in Mauterndorf and the parish of Tamsweg. The committed youngsters managed to create a touching atmosphere with a lot of heart and creativity, which formed the framework for a contemplative night of the 1000 lights.

This event not only gave a deeper insight into the spirituality of the participants, but also showed how important the commitment of the youth is in the church community. The evening created a platform for the exchange and the connection with faith. Further details about the event and its organization can be found in the report by Yvonne Roßmann, who impressively records the initiative and the success of the night of the 1000 lights.
