New timetable in Salzburg: More connections for environmentally friendly mobility!
From December 15, 2024, the residents and visitors of Salzburg can look forward to a completely new public transport network! The Salzburg Transport Association has announced a comprehensive change of timetable that brings numerous innovations and improvements in city, regional and rail traffic. As meinzirk.at , the changeover will significantly increase the attractiveness of travel in and around Salzburg.
The optimizations in city traffic are particularly striking. Line 12 is now operated all day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. every 15 minutes-every day, including weekends and public holidays. This improved offer is supplemented by additional connections and a clock compression on other lines, such as the 11, which together form a "city ring". The Salzburg local railway receives new stops and improved connections, while in the Flachgau the S-Bahn moves with the new “Seekirchen City” stop. This station is supplemented by a modern park-and-ride system with 160 parking spaces for cars and covered bicycle spaces, so that the main train station can be reached in less than 15 minutes.
innovations in regional traffic
The innovations are not only limited to the city of Salzburg. As Salzburg.gv.at , the line offers are also expanded in Pinzgau: Line 260 is added to an additional early connection and the S8 is also extended to Zell am See, which is above all pendant and students the region benefits. In addition, new connections are offered at the weekend, and the direct connection from Vienna to St. Johann im Pongau is launched.
A highlight is the introduction of a flexible and needs-oriented mobility offer: the new shuttle services, such as the Goldegg Shuttle and Tennengau Shuttle, expand the offer for the entire region and make public transport even more accessible.
