In the night of November 27, a terrible traffic accident occurred in the Flachgau district, Salzburg, which had tragic consequences. A 22-year-old man was on the Hintersestrasse around 8:30 p.m. when he tried to overtake a regular bus in a right-hand bend. In this dramatic frontal collision, both the young driver and three women, aged 52 and 56, were seriously injured. Tragically, the 61-year-old passenger of the oncoming vehicle later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. The rescue workers reacted quickly to the emergency call and moved in with a large contingent. Five ambulances from the Red Cross, three emergency doctors and additional practical doctors were used to supply the injured people as quickly as possible. The wounded were brought to the Salzburg accident hospital and the Salzburg University Hospital, whereby a person was transported to the clinic in Schwarzach in the Pongau by rescue helicopter.
According to the police previous investigations, the person causing the accident was not under the influence of alcohol, and the closer accident is currently being examined.
