Teaching 2024 Day: Practical insights for students in Hallwang
At the beginning of this week, the "Teaching 2024 Day" took place in the Hotel Hollweger in St. Gilgen, organized by the Labor Market Service (AMS) Salzburg. Around 100 pupils of the St. Gilgen middle school had the opportunity to find out about various professions and training opportunities and gain practical experience.
The event offered a platform for twelve local companies that presented their diverse professional opportunities. Among other things, the Appesbacher company, the Lack WG, the Hotel Hollweger and the BSU construction company were on site to give young guests an insight into their industry. "We want to show the students that there are many exciting professional fields," said Martina Ebner, the press spokeswoman for the AMS Salzburg.
interactive insights into the professional world
The day started with an entertaining greeting before the students visited the different stands of the companies in groups. Each company had around 30 minutes to not only present the job profiles to the students, but also to give an impression of everyday work and corporate culture. This concluded numerous interactive elements that significantly enriched the experience for the students.
Another highlight was the opening of the event for parents and relatives. So the students had the chance to bring their parents with them and to ask questions together, to better orient themselves and to specifically visit the companies that they were particularly interested. This opportunity promoted the exchange between parents, schoolchildren and the representatives of the companies.
The professional support from the consultants of the AMS Salzburg environment was a further profit of the event. These were at the side of both the students and the companies with valuable information and advice, which made the exchange more intense.
The positive response from the students, the companies and the parents underline the importance of such events. According to AMS, an “important bridge between young people and companies” was beaten here, which promotes exchange and networking and helps the pupils to expand their professional perspectives.
