Burgenland Reform: Charity in nursing from 2029
In Burgenland there are significant changes in the area of care. According to a current judgment of the Constitutional Court (VfGH), the social institution law established in 2019 will be revised. From 2029, the country's funds should only be awarded to institutions that are non -profit. "Profits must not be made in nursing," said the clear statement by State Councilor Leonhard Schneemann (SPÖ) and club chairman Roland Fürst.
A central aspect of this regulation is the extension of the transition periods: Instead of the originally planned four years, the carrier organizations now have up to ten years to take into account the new regulation. In Burgenland, 17 carrier organizations with a total of 45 institutions are currently active, ten of which are already considered non -profit. By January 1, 2025, all new care facilities are no longer allowed to make profits. Institutions that do not reach the status of non -profitness by November 1, 2029 are no longer supported by the state government. Instead, new accommodation is to be created in the area.
criticism of the sales model and new care facilities
The MPs emphasize that profits in the nursing sector not only affect the quality of care, but can also have negative effects on nursing staff. Prince expressed his concern about the sale of the VAMED to a French company whose effects on the quality of care had to be discussed. "This sale contradicts our goals to improve care in Burgenland," said Fürst. In addition, Schneemann announced that the tender for the planned 71 new nursing support points will take place this year.
In a conversation with Health Minister Johannes Rauch (Greens), the upcoming end of the EU project "Community Nurses" was also addressed. In the future, the federal states can settle this staff via an extended nursing fund. The Burgenland plans to use such specialists in all 28 nursing regions to further improve nursing care.
These developments are of great importance for future care in Burgenland, as they aim to ensure sustainable and high -quality care for those in need of care. More detailed information about the next steps and planned measures can be found in a report on www.sn.at .
