New shine for the ASKÖ Boxing Club Hallein: Modern training hall opened
An exciting change has taken place in Hallein. The training hall of the ASKÖ Boxing Club Hallein, which is located in the Polytechnic School, has been extensively renovated and now shines in new splendor. Members and visitors can look forward to modern equipment that significantly improves training conditions.
The club currently has 40 active members who benefit from the new environment. Tarik Asil, who has been chairman since last year, can look back on a long history of the club, which has produced numerous state and national champions. The renovation of the hall was necessary in order to meet the high demands of boxing. “Actually everything is new, except the walls,” explains Asil. The association has invested several thousand euros in the general renovation, supported by sponsors such as the EMCO private clinic, Carena Autoreinigung and the municipality of Hallein.
An event full of honored guests
Many guests of honor were present at the ceremonial opening, including National Council member Michaela Schmidt, local fire brigade commander Sebastian Wass and Mayor Alexander Stangassinger from the SPÖ. Mayor Stangassinger emphasized the importance of clubs for city life and assured: "Without clubs, a city is nothing. Even if the municipal budgets become tight, the clubs are the last place where we will save money." This promise was well received by chairman Asil, who sees it as important for the survival of such sports facilities.
A special highlight of the renovation is the new boxing ring, which now enables the club to take training to a higher level. "A boxing ring is not just a place where athletes compete. It is a place where you learn a lot," says Asil. This statement reflects the club's philosophy, which includes not only sporting success but also the personal development of its members.
With these changes, the Hallein boxing club is well positioned for the future. The equipment in the training hall in particular could be an incentive not only for current members, but also for new interested parties to join the club. The positive development shows how important commitment and support from sponsors and the community are in keeping such sporting facilities alive. The comprehensive renovation is not only an investment in sporting performance, but also a commitment to the importance of sport in the community, concludes Tarik Asil.
