FC Red Bull Salzburg starts in the women's Bundesliga!

FC Red Bull Salzburg is preparing for the big step into the top of Austrian women's football! From the 2025/26 season, the association will compete in the Admiral Women Bundesliga, thanks to a strategic partnership with FC Bergheim. This cooperation enables the new team to start under the name "FC Red Bull Salzburg Women", with the sporting and operational management at Red Bull, as is emphasized in a press release. This marks an important milestone, since Salzburg has already established a U16 and a U20 team since cooperation with Bergheim 2022, which are now active in the respective leagues, while Bergheim is currently fifth in the Bundesliga.

Bernd Winkler, Head of Women's Football at Red Bull, emphasizes that numerous talents from the youth teams have already collected valuable game practice in the Bundesliga. His assessment: "Our young players have already developed in such a short time that several of them were already working as regular players in the Bundesliga team of FC Bergheim this autumn." With the desired promotion to the highest division, the development of young talents is further promoted to strengthen women's football in the region sustainably. Bianca Neubauer, chairwoman of FC Bergheim, also expressed her joy about the collaboration and emphasized the common treasure that the two clubs build in women's football formation.

As part of this new direction, Red Bull Salzburg will provide three women's teams: the U16, the U20 and the new Bundesliga team.
