Cradle of Filth: New album and exciting collaboration with Ed Sheeran!
The British Black Metal band Cradle of Filth is back with its new album "The Screaming of the Valkyries", which will be released on March 21, 2025. After over three years of waiting, the band ties in with their glorious times in the late 90s and early 2000s and mixes them with modern sounds and gothic influences. Frontmann Dani Filth commented in an interview with the "Krone" and spoke about the development of the band, which presents a fresh line-up and new songs, which contain both well-known elements and novel influences. The return from Dani to the musical basis is perceived as a kind of rebirth of artistic work, especially after the long pandemical break, in which the band was able to catch up with many appearances.
album content and influences
"The Screaming of the Valkyries" combines various musical currents, whereby the pieces "to live deliciously" and "White Hellebore" are in particular fueling high expectations. These songs make a balance of powerful, fast metal and melancholic, melodic elements. According to the "Loudhailermagazine", the song "You are my nautilus" shows a clear departure from the traditional Cradle sounds and is a tribute to Jules Verne's legendary work "two thousand Leagues under the Sea". In his interview, Dani emphasized that every album was a new chance to develop further and at the same time appreciate the band's legacy without repeating themselves.
The album is described as a powerful performance that captures both the roots of the band and their innovation spirit. With strong melodic vocals and violent riffs, the plate shows that Cradle of Filth remains relevant and creative even after more than 30 years in the music business. They keep their distinctive style while at the same time taking new tonal paths. The band will also go on tour in the near future, including in Austria, where it will perform in the Rockhouse Salzburg on June 11th, as the "Krone" reports.
Fans can look forward to an exciting mix of familiar and reinterpreting sounds that will make the comeback of Cradle of Filth an experience. “The Screaming of the Valkyries” is eagerly awaited and stands for the continuous development of the band that captures the zeitgeist with their music.
