Raid on A2 and A11: Over 400 violations discovered in large controls!

In a large -scale check on the A2 and A11 motorways, the police and authorities have found over 400 violations in the past few days. These checks focused primarily on transports that took place in the context of the Waste Management Act, as well as on the transport of dangerous goods in accordance with ADR regulations. The measures are part of a nationwide initiative to combat illegal waste provision and to ensure traffic safety.

The controls showed alarming results. The authorities carried out 32 reviews within the framework of the Waste Management Act, which led to two advertisements and five organ mandate punishments. In the dangerous goods area, 21 controls were carried out, in which 16 advertisements and three organ mandate sentences were pronounced. In addition, the control experts made 64 EGVO controls, which revealed a variety of violations of social regulations and technical defects. A total of 60 security benefits were raised and 26 prohibitions of the onward journey, which confirms the dimension of controls. Several ten thousand euros in security services and organ mandates were taken.

mechanisms to combat illegal waste production

The cross -border waste provision is subject to strict regulations, which are regulated in Germany by Ordinance 1013/2006/EC (VVA) and the waste extension law (AbfBRG). These laws are based on the Basel Convention of March 22, 1989, which defines international standards for dealing with dangerous waste. According to these guidelines, transports must comply with different documentation and approval obligations depending on the type of waste and the country of destination. In particular, waste deals that cross the border are often associated with considerable bureaucratic effort.

The regular meetings of all contact points in the EU, in which experts come together to develop guidelines and interpretations, also play an important role. Here, a strong focus is on combating illegal waste provision that requires close cooperation between waste authorities, customs and the Federal Office of Fruitwater.

Current developments in international waste supplies

In May 2023, the 16th Conference of the Conference of the Conference took place in Geneva, on which important technical guidelines for the environmentally friendly treatment of plastic waste were adopted. This conference also served to address the progress and challenges of cross -border waste provision. In addition to the treatment of dangerous waste, updated guidelines for electrical devices and the distinction between waste and non-waste were also discussed. The aim of this international cooperation is to raise awareness of the need for environmentally friendly use of waste and to find solutions for existing problems.

In view of the violations raised in the past few days, the importance of such controls and regulations is once more evident. The continuous measures to check and comply with the regulations are crucial to ensure safe and environmentally friendly use of waste.
