Austria's ski mass fight in Hafjell: only Grein in the race!
Kranjska Gora, Slowenien - The initial phase of the Ski World Cup causes excitement! Austria's team is still waiting for the first victory of this season. In the slalom of Hafjell on Sunday, Fabio Grein secured sixth place after he was still in third place at half -time. In the end, the Tyrolean was only 0.68 seconds for the winner Loic Meillard from Switzerland, who confidently drove the best time. Grein had a strong start, but had to lose a few places in the final. Next to him, Atle Lie McGrath from Norway took second place and Lucas Pinheiro Braathen from Brazil.
The situation for the Austrian skiers remains tense. While Gstrein as the best Austrian section, other top competitors did not make it into the top ranges. Johannes Strolz landed in 20th place, followed by Joshua Sturm, who was 24th, and Adrian Pertl in 25th place. Marco Schwarz was less lucky and was eliminated in the second run. Manuel Feller was also not in the best form and failed shortly before the goal, which meant that he could not collect points. According to Laola1 Kristoffersen continues to have a lead over Meillard.
