JJ’s appearances and the ESC in Austria

The new ESC king JJ will be a guest on Tuesday in the program "Welcome Austria". Further appearances are already planned for the "Starnacht am Neusiedler See" on June 6th and 7th. Alexander Dumreicher-Vivanu, chairman of the music industry association, also congratulated on victory and emphasized the importance of the moment for the music industry. The congratulations of the Federal President were also sent, which increased the official recognition of success.

Austria has a long and eventful story at the Eurovision Song Contest. The country took part for the first time in 1958, and the first participant was Bob Martin with the song "Where, little pony", which was not very successful. Famous names such as Udo Jürgens and Conchita Wurst have led Austria to high positions and even victories. While Jürgens won "Merci, Chérie" in 1966, Conchita Wurst brought the ESC to Austria in 2014 with her winning of 290 points.

The successes and failures of the country at the ESC illustrate the challenges and achievements of Austrian music culture. In the 1970s and 80s, Austria experienced many setbacks, but with Udo Jürgens, Thomas Forstner and Conchita Wurst there are some outstanding participants who shaped the history of the competition and ultimately create certainty that the ESC will continue to play an important role in Austria.

Overall, the celebration in the Chancellery reflects the appreciation for cultural achievements and the joy of the victory that the Austrian government and population unites.
