While many are just thinking of the big celebrations in Munich, Villa Kunterbunt has been taking place in the Villa Kunterfest kindergarten for three years. This special event is celebrated at the end of September and is very important to the children.

The first Oktoberfest goes back to October 12, 1810 when the wedding of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig and his bride Therese was celebrated. Originally a riding tournament took place that day and the Oktoberfest started. This story is well known to the 20 children of Villa Kunterbunt, and they look forward to their own celebrations every year.

Celebration with a lot of fun

In kindergarten, all children come in traditional costumes and look forward to a variety of games that range from a kindergarten car droma to face painting to a can shooting. "We tap a box with a regional apple juice and enjoy sausages with pretzels. Every child receives a gingerbread heart that you can hang proudly," reports Theresa Grosz, the educational director of Villa Kunterbunt.

This year there was a special attraction: a traditional horse race. In the trend of hobbyhorse, the children made their own hobby horses from old socks, wool residues and buttons. Then they were able to test their works of art in an exciting race over various obstacles and even over a moat.
