Sustainable projects in the Hausruckviertel: Upper Austria State Prize 2024 awarded

In the Hausruckviertel there was a special award ceremony, which distinguished the sustainable initiatives of the region. Together with Mein district of Upper Austria, the country was looking for the best projects to promote environmental and sustainability. Around 200 great contributions from private individuals, associations, schools and municipalities have been submitted, and now the winners have been honored in the festive framework of the Wels minority monastery.

The event attracted numerous guests of honor, including members of the state parliament and mayor from the area. The evening was musically framed by the talented singer Christina Zarzer, accompanied by Alexander Danninger on the piano, which contributed to a special atmosphere. The price, which includes more than 50,000 euros in prize money, is handed over to initiatives that show special commitment to environmental protection.

importance of the price

At the award ceremony, the climate and environmental council, Stefan Kaineder, explained the relevance of the competition: "What we consume in resources and energies will not stand this planet in the long run. Therefore, there is a price to show everything that is sustainable." This statement underlines the need for sustainable action to ensure the quality of life of the region and beyond.

MeinDeit Upper Austria has had the opportunity for the first time this year to support this initiative and to emphasize the diverse projects that are already being implemented locally. Kaineder emphasized that it was important to reach the people in Upper Austria directly and to show them how much is already done at the regional level.

The submitted projects covered a wide range that ranged from initiatives to mobility to community actions to educational projects. A jury from various areas - science, business, art and culture - evaluated the submitted strenuous projects and chose the district winners, who now have the right to name "sponsor of the Upper Austria State Prize for the Environment and Sustainability 2024".

"We are pleased that we can get projects and initiatives in front of the curtain with the environmental prize that contribute to sustainability and thus maintain the quality of life in our country," said Thomas Winkler, editor -in -chief of MeinDeiten OÖ.

To the delight of everyone present, each award winner received a certificate and prize money that serves as appreciation for the hard -working services.

The importance of such awards cannot be assessed highly enough, since they appreciate the commitment of citizens and institutions and create an incentive to continue to invest in sustainable projects to protect the environment.
