Colorful stones and art: New adventure path in Zwettl/Rodl
in Zwettl/Rodl has developed a fascinating stone snake along the picturesque bee experience path since 2019, which now includes over 5,000 colorful stones. This creative initiative was launched by the couple Tanja and Daniel Gossenreiter during the covid pandemic and is very popular with locals and visitors alike.
More and more people from the region, but also nationally, take part in this project by leaving painted stones. This stone snake is not only a visualized joint project, but also a symbol of creative citizen participation. The colorfully designed stones attract the attention of many walkers and art lovers.
ecological redesign
In view of the great popularity of the project and the increased maintenance effort, the association "Leventen Zwettl an der Rodl" decided in collaboration with the municipality of Zwettl/Rodl and the initiators to realize an artistic redesign. Here, the art -creating Elke point meat (ceramic) and Ulrike Asamer (metal) will present a concept in which the stones of the snake are transformed into pollen of flowers. Your planned installation made of metal and ceramic will represent honeycombs, flowers and pollen and thus frame the painted stones in a special way.An important aspect of this project is the ecologically responsible use of colors for the new stones to protect the environment and promote sustainable principles. The artists have a common goal: "People act like bees on the stone snake, they collect and design stones diligently, then bring and put the decorated stones along the bee adventure path." Your vision combines art and nature in an impressive way.
For the implementation of this project, the association can also count on the support of the Sterngartl Gusental project, which is supported by an EU funding of 60 percent of the total costs. The official opening of the artistic stone snake is planned for Friday, June 6th, and promises to become another highlight in the region. Until then, the artists will start with their work to further develop the project and to increase the attractiveness of the bee experience path.
