Women's power in Freistadt: Perfect start of the season of the Compact women!
In Freistadt, the Compact women's women's team made an excellent start to the season. They won 3-0 at their first two games that took place in front of a home crowd. This represents a promising start, even if there were some phases of uncertainty in the course of the game.
Although the Freistädterers won both games against Urfahr and Arnreit, there were some personal mistakes and unrest. However, thanks to the strong performance of the entire team, especially the attacker Emilia English, these uncertainties could be quickly overcome. Laura Priemetzhofer, the captain of the team, was satisfied after the games: "We are very satisfied with the start, even if we know that there is still room for improvement. We still have to turn off the small mistakes, but at the beginning the two 3-0 wins are a very good starting point for us".
challenges for men
The men of the Union Compact Freistadt, on the other hand, had a mixed day in the 1st fistball Bundesliga of the men. In a nerve -wracking game against UFG Grieskirchen, they had to give up 3-2. This was a narrow defeat that the team had to accept after intensive combative achievements. Despite good approaches, it was not enough to compensate for the weaknesses in service. Grieskirchen prevailed in the decisive fifth set.
In the second game of the day, however, the men's team was able to demonstrate its strength. They clearly won against Union Münzbach and did not give the opponents the slightest chance. The team performance was concentrated, which was a clear contrast to their previous game. Next week the encounters against the teams from Froschberg and Nussbach are on the program.
The services of the Freistädter this season show both promising approaches in both women and men, even if there is still a need for improvement in one place or another. In the current constellation, women laid a great foundation stone on which they can continue to build up.
