Working experience day in Freistadt: 2,400 visitors discover training paths

Freistadt. The professional experience day in Freistadt exhibition hall attracted a considerable audience, with 2,400 visitors and 72 exhibitors who presented their diverse training opportunities. This event represents the largest professional information in the Mühlviertel and serves as an important orientation platform for young people and their parents.

The chairman of the WKO Freistadt, Christian Naderer, was pleased with the great encouragement. On an area of 4,100 square meters, the exhibitors had the opportunity to present their professions and apprenticeships clearly. Numerous experience stations made it possible for young people not only to watch, but also to actively learn what they expect from the individual professions. The fair was an experience for all the senses: Depending on the station, the participants could admire things, attack, hear, taste or smell. It was a highlight for many young people to go home with a specific apprenticeship contract in their luggage at the end of the event.

apprenticeships in abundance

The change of management on the labor market has changed the situation for the young people. The unemployment rate has been low for years, and the realization that fewer and fewer young people will be entered in the future, the attention of regional employers will be aware of the labor market. Dietmar Wolfsegger, the head of WKO Freistadt, underlined that the range of training positions and apprenticeships is currently more extensive and attractive as ever. This not only inspires the training fair, but also shows the excellent opportunities for school leavers in the region.

The professional experience day gave young people a very concrete insight what to expect. Many participants reported increased trust in their professional decisions after seeing the variety of professions and training offers. This is particularly important because the decision about the professional future is often associated with many uncertainties.

Another exciting event is already around: The Upper Austria Job Week will take place from March 31 to April 5, 2025, whereby numerous companies will open their doors. This again offers the participants the opportunity to find out more about the available career opportunities and to learn more about potential employers.

Overall, the professional experience day shows how regional Engagement in the field of training is concretely implemented and what important steps are taken to show the young people a wide range of opportunities. The future prospects for young people in the Mühlviertel are promising, and events like this play a crucial role.
