A century of rural housekeeping: opening in Edelhof

In Edelhof, an impressive festival was recently celebrated. The occasion was the official opening of the new addition to the Agricultural Education Center (LBZ) and the 101-year tradition of rural housekeeping. It was a day that is of significant importance for both the past and for the future of education in the region.

The celebration took place after three years of intensive construction work, which ended as planned. Guests from near and far were invited to commit this special moment. During the event, visitors had the opportunity to experience a “tour of space and time”, which they led from the beginning in 1923 in Göpfritz on the game to the modern premises in Edelhof. Old stories were exchanged, which gave the guests the opportunity to share memories and to think about how the educational institution has changed over the decades.

special guests and blessings

There were many personalities among the guests who play an important role in the regional educational landscape. Kaplan Manuel Sattelberger expressed the blessing for the future of the school. In his speech, he emphasized the value of rural housekeeping as part of the education system and the need to further maintain and promote this tradition. The director of the technical school, Michaela Bauer-Windischhofer and the former director Maria Edlinger, Erna Stiermaier and Annemarie Schmid, were also present and felt honored by the positive development of the school.

State Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister and other local civil servants such as district captain Markus Peham and department head Erika Haidvogl underlined the importance of this celebration for the community and rural development. The inauguration of the new premises is not only a progress for the technical school itself, but also a signal of support for all trainees who choose the career in rural housekeeping.

The appreciation of rural housekeeping is also evident in the interest of the visitors to the new premises, which should offer the latest teaching and learning conditions. The initiative behind the extension is aimed at giving the students to qualified training through innovative teaching methods and modern technology.

The event attracted numerous former students and interested parties - a nice demonstration of the ongoing interest in rural education. The representatives of the technical school took the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the past 101 years and to outline the next steps that are undertaken to make the school an important educational institution in the future.
