Scottish-Irish joie de vivre inspires Rohrbacher audience
On Saturday evening, the Schmellerhalle in Rohrbach turned into a scene for Scottish-Irish joie de vivre. The band Macc & C Celtic Four, consisting of Karl-Heinz Steinbeisser, Christian Bruckmeier, Paul Karman, Martin Schmidt and Fabian Steinbeisser, demonstrated their skills and provided a rousing atmosphere.
The musicians are not only very familiar with the Lower Bavarian dialect, but also acquired knowledge of Gälisch, Irish and English, which they have improved not least in adult education courses and at regulars' meetings. They also inspired their connections to Scottish and Irish partner cities to discover the authentic music of these regions and to interpret them for their audience. The mix of traditional melodies, Bavarian humor and musical instruments such as the Fiddle, the bagpipe, the accordion or the Tinwhistle made the audience smile.
enthusiasm and hands-on mood
The evening began with the classic "The Irish Rover", which quickly got the audience up. The band members acted on stage with tireless energy, presented gripping songs and always gave their performances a humorous note. "The hands high", the band said, and promptly the arms went up, while the spectators eagerly took part. With "Wild Rover" and "Bug Down in the Valley" the clapping became a race because the audience enthusiastically singed along and clapped.
Especially Martin Schmidt, the young violin player, caused an cheer: he originally intended to dance on the tables, but when he found that there were no tables, he decided to dance through the rows. At MACC & C Celtic Four, the focus is on fun, and the quartet knew how to captivate the spectators with their versatile and lively game.
an unforgettable evening
ovation was the result of this rousing performance, and the audience no longer kept it on the chairs. The musicians promised to come back next year, and visitors can only hope that this promise will be redeemed. The energy and the fun that were noticeable that evening already make anticipation for the next event.
