Help in the Advent season: a fundraising campaign for Bolivian street children

A special event will take place in Haslach on December 1st that not only promises cozy advent mood, but also serves a good cause. The organization Maya Paya Kimsa, founded by Martin Berndorfer, has set itself the task of helping street children in Bolivia. In the case of delicious punch, glowmost, sausages and cookies, donations are collected on this day to give the affected children a better life.

In Bolivia, the situation is unfortunately anything but easy for many families. Many people are currently fighting with the aftermath of pandemic, which has particularly affected the economy. High unemployment and lower purchasing power are the order of the day. The children also find it difficult to catch up with the school material that was lost during the crisis period. This is where Maya Paya Kimsa comes in and offers school tutoring and conveyor lessons.

A step in the right direction

Janneth Perez, the director of the organization, proudly reports on the positive progress: "With our program, we can probably achieve that all participating children will successfully complete the current school year." This is particularly important because the school year in Bolivia ends in mid -December before the long summer vacation begins. A successful school leaving certificate is a significant step back into a life far away from the street for the children.

The support from the Mühlviertel enables Maya Paya Kimsa to go on this path and to offer the affected children perspectives. The measure is not only a short -term help, but aims to give the children a sustainable chance of a better life.

The Advent event on this Sunday not only offers an opportunity to come together comfortably with warm drinks and fresh treats, but also to talk to Martin Berndorfer about the projects in Bolivia. At the same time, a reading and craft lesson is organized for the younger visitors, which begins at 10.30 a.m. The event is the perfect way to enjoy the pre -Christmas season and do good at the same time.

A visit to the Mapaki Advent event is not only an opportunity to learn something about the important projects of the organization, but also to actively participate in the support of the street children in Bolivia. In this way, the cozy get -together becomes a valuable matter that goes beyond the local events. Further information on the event and activities of Maya Paya Kimsa are at www.tips.at to be found.
