Historischer Rückblick auf 25 Jahre
Monika Hiemer, from the Landratsamt, provided a brief historical overview during her greetings, reflecting on the evolving legal frameworks governing workshops for disabled people. She articulated the essence of the workshop’s mission: “It’s about finding the right work for the right people, not the other way around.” This approach has allowed the Workshop in Rohrbach to offer meaningful employment opportunities and integration for individuals across a spectrum of disabilities and age groups.
Today, the Workshop Rohrbach supports around 190 employees, offering social security-eligible jobs, which marks a significant shift from previous practices. This number contributes to a total of 650 positions available across the Bodenseekreis region, showcasing the critical role that organizations like this play in the local economy and community.
Another highlight of the event was the acknowledgment of long-standing employees. Arnd Götzfried, the head of daily structure at the workshop, celebrated the longevity of several employees who have been part of the Rohrbach community since its inception. Simon, a notable employee, also celebrated his 25th birthday, coinciding perfectly with the workshop’s anniversary.
The festivities were filled with traditional activities such as pumpkin carving and various games, all set to the lively backdrop of Country music performed by John + Peter. Attendees indulged in delicious birthday cake, with many employees expressing delight over the treats, indicating a strong sense of community within the workshop.
Patrick Trieb shared insights about the integration initiatives within the workshop, noting that approximately 30 employees currently work at ZF, along with others engaged in job qualification programs or vocational training. This reflects the workshop’s commitment to not only providing a supportive environment but also facilitating real-world job opportunities.
Moreover, the collaboration extends beyond the walls of the workshop, involving multi-faceted partnerships across various social domains, including employment and residential services. “We are proud of our achievements in Rohrbach over these 25 years,” Trieb said, underscoring the success of their inclusive approach to employment.
In total, the Workshop Rohrbach employs 33 caregivers, and maintains partnerships with about 25 local businesses, primarily in the metalworking sector. ZF has been a long-standing collaborator, contributing to the workshop’s early successes and continuing to provide significant support.
The day concluded with a joyous celebration featuring delicious finger food, reinforcing the sentiment that fostering relationships and joy in the workplace, combined with hard work, makes this facility a shining example of inclusion and community spirit.
